Infrastructure is an essential part of everyone's daily life. YIT is building infrastructure to enable a smoother flow of sustainable living for people, businesses and society.
We know how to build, among other things: railways, tramways, metros, streets and roads, bridges, ports, power plants, such as wind farms and hydropower plants, industrial plants, water treatment plants, water towers and wastewater treatment plants, parking halls, sports halls, swimming pools, underground spaces, tunnels, and foundation engineering, such as stabilisation and piling. We also maintain roads, streets and green areas.
We respect and value our customers, partners and each other, and we are creative. Infrastructure is our passion.
Civil engineering enables a more competitive society. A well-functioning infrastructure means, for example, low-emission public transport, clean water, sports and swimming halls, tunnels, bridges, safe roads, efficient wastewater treatment, clean heat and energy production, solid foundations, earth works and practical ports.
We have excellent project competence and lots of experience of projects requiring special skills. We use open and inclusive cooperation models. Alliance projects are our particular strength, and we have the alliance model in use in many projects.
Sustainable success requires us, as Finland's largest construction company, to have clear goals and actions in terms of responsibility. YIT is the first Finnish construction company committed to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and its target to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius, in accordance with the Paris Agreement.
