The benefits for landowners

Let's find out together if the favorable winds are blowing in your area. Put them to generate extra income as wind power.

You can earn an annual rent for the land needed by the wind farm, and at the same time, forestry can continue as usual. Let's find out together if a wind farm is suitable for your land area.

This is how a wind power project starts
  • Preliminary study, search and selection of a suitable area
  • Negotiations with the landowner, the municipality and other stakeholders, as well as land lease contract negotiations
  • Requesting a statement from the Defense Forces and the Air Transport Authority to locate power plants in the area
  • Investigation of noise and flicker effects
  • Negotiations with the electricity network company
  • Zoning agreement with the municipality
  • The ELY Center shall decide whether an environmental impact assessment procedure is to be applied and, if so, an EIA study shall be carried out.
  • Natural, landscape and archaeological study
  • Zoning of the area for wind power use
  • Wind measurements
  • Applying for permits (eg building permit)
  • Network Connection Agreement
  • Arranging financing
  • Power plant supplier selection
  • Construction of a wind farm infrastructure, such as road construction
  • Turbine erection, commissioning, maintenance, decommissioning (in about 30-35 years)
  • Demolition of structures and landscaping of the area
  • Start of a possible new project in the area

Several phases can be running at the same time.

THE COMPLETION OF A MEDIUM-SIZED WIND POWER PROJECT (approximately 10 wind farms) from initial studies to a finished wind farm takes on average 2–4 years. The progress of the project depends on many factors, including the timing of the studies to be carried out and the extent to which the implementation of the wind power project is already familiar to the local and regional authorities.

WIND POWER BRINGS REVENUE to the community in many different ways. The municipality receives property tax on the foundations, the turbine towers and the engine room frames. Depending on the type of company of the wind farm and other factors, the municipality may also receive corporate tax revenue from wind power.
