Kupittaan kärki Partnership Project, Turku
We are building a logistics centre in Vantaa for PostNord’s use.
We are building a logistics centre in Hakkila, Vantaa, as a self-developed project by YIT. PostNord, a provider of communications and logistics solutions in the Nordic countries will be tenant in the property. Construction started in autumn 2021 and the facilities will be completed in autumn 2022.
The new, 15,000 m2 logistics terminal will house all the terminal operations of PostNord in the capital region. The Vantaa terminal is part of PostNord’s network strategy of having its own terminals in locations that are strategic for domestic traffic, imports and exports: Vantaa, Turku and Tampere.
The location is excellent for a logistics company, both from the point of view of heavy traffic and deliveries in and near the capital region. The centre will be located along the ring roads that offer smooth connections to Helsinki, the Vuosaari harbour and the rest of Finland.
“E-commerce continues its strong growth in Finland, and PostNord is investing in terminal infrastructure in order to meet the growing volumes of parcels and the increasing consumer expectations regarding smooth deliveries. Our plan is to build a modern terminal that uses automation efficiently to support our business and promotes the achievement of our growth and responsibility targets,” says Johanna Starck, Chief Operating Office at PostNord.
“The COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the growth of e-commerce, and efficient delivery chains have become more important than ever. It makes us happy to be able to offer PostNord such an excellent location and a spatial solution that meets the needs of their expanding operations,” says Timo Lehmus, EVP at YIT.
The property will apply for LEED Silver environmental certification.
