The old tower was renovated to the modern headquarters for Accountor in the heart of Keilaniemenranta, Espoo, Finland.

YIT is refurbishing the former Fortum Head Office building to become a modern headquarters for Accountor in the heart of Keilaniemenranta, Espoo, Finland. For over 40 years, the building, completed in 1976, has been the tallest office building in Finland. It is now being thoroughly modernised to meet the needs of both new users and the local community.

The facade of the building, which is a well-known landmark, has been preserved, but the interior and the technical building systems have been completely overhauled. The tower block, with its 20 floors above ground and one underground, is 83.6 metres tall.

The premises leased to Accountor are roughly 11,000 square metres in area and contain approximately 800 workstations.

Renovation work began in 2018 and the building was commissioned in December 2019.

This renovation project marked the launch of a larger Keilaniemenranta project, in which Regenero Oy, a joint venture by YIT and HGR Property Partners, will turn the area into a lively neighbourhood. The area will have a central square with pavilions, restaurants and playgrounds. Two residential buildings will be erected on the beachfront boulevard. There will also be a grocery store and other everyday services in the podium of the tower, with a scenic restaurant upstairs. In addition, another landmark building is planned for the area, which, when completed, will be the tallest office and hotel tower in Finland.

The lower Keilalampi building on the same plot of land will be renovated during 2020. It will be leased to If Insurance Ltd, which will transfer all 650 of its office employees in the Helsinki metropolitan area to the Keilalampi property in early 2021.
