Maistraatinportti – responsibly ready for 2050
YIT has signed a lease on locating Eezy Plc’s operations in the Maistraatinportti office building in the Länsi-Pasila district of Helsinki. The building will be fully renovated, including its facade. The current functions of Eezy’s head office will be relocated to the new modern premises of approximately 4,130 m2 in Maistraatinportti once the renovation is complete in September 2023.
Maistraatinportti is a building completed in 1987 that used to house magazine publishers, and its original unique architecture was designed by Ismo Valjakka. The starting point in the design of the building was to create an inspiring working environment for the users, providing an atmosphere that encourages creativity and a unique identity. In practice, the results of the design are reflected in beautifully curving walls, impressive wellholes, light courts and small unexpected balconies. The renovated premises will support the requirements of next-generation hybrid work by adding flexibility and new technology to the premises and improving the property’s safety, usability and maintenance.

Agreeing on the lease more than one year before the completion of the renovation and premises provides the tenant with the best opportunities for designing its premises to be suited for its own needs and look unique. Maistraatinportti is in an excellent location and interests companies. Most likely, the best of the currently vacant premises will be leased quickly,” says Tuula Klemetti, Sales Director at YIT.
Maistraatinportti is a business centre located next to YIT-developed Tripla, and it will feature a total of approximately 12,200 m2 of leasable office space. The renovation will be carried out sustainably, and the design takes into account low-carbon aspects such as building materials, insulation, heating and life-cycle maintenance of the building. The objective of the renovation project is to achieve a 30% lower carbon footprint compared to the baseline. The building will apply for Gold-level LEED certification.
