Särkänsilta bridge, Tampere

We are participating in the construction of Särkänsilta bridge in cooperation with the City of Tampere. Särkänsilta bridge is part of a broader development package that aims to strengthen Särkänniemi's position as a versatile centre for leisure and tourism. The new bridge facilitates access to Särkänniemi. The reforms also support the sustainable development of the area and the integration of the cityscape.

The bridge forks in two directions: one route leads to the entrance to the amusement park and the other to Näsinneula and Sara Hildén Art Museum. Once completed, the bridge will be an important part of the area's pedestrian and cycling network.

Särkänsilta connects the experiential Särkänniemi more closely to the centre of Tampere

Särkänsilta bridge has a single-material appearance and is sculpturally clear. Minority is based on location in a visually full area. The equipment of the Särkänniemi amusement park with its steel frames and the barrels and masts of the old ships of the port will be paired with a clear-cut element. As a special feature, blindfolds are made with viewing holes especially for children.

The Särkänsilta bridge is upholstered with roster plates, which creates a special appearance for the bridge. The lighting of the bridge is fully integrated into the bridge structure, and there are no separate pole lamps in the bridge. Access lighting on the top surface takes place using the enclosure space inside the closed railing. Light is obtained evenly and softly throughout the length of the bridge to emphasize the direction of the bridge.

Construction has started in 2025 and the bridge is expected to be completed in 2026.
