A new life for building components dismantled from the Vallila block – the project’s own circular economy store now open

Creating something new sometimes also means dismantling the old.
In the Vallila project, dismantling is planned with a focus on preserving building components, removing them intact and reusing them.

Carefully assessed, dismantled and documented building components from the properties are given an opportunity for a new life in the block’s own circular economy shop. Interior materials such as internal doors, carpet tiles and internal glass walls are directed for reuse through the shop even before the actual construction begins.

The shop is operated by YIT’s partner Spolia Design, which refurbishes, tests, and documents all building components for sale – and provides them with a two‑year product warranty. The selection is available both at the physical Circular Economy Corner in Vallila and in Spolia’s online store.
