More respectfully

Revitalizing Vallila requires residents who use a variety of services. New housing and services bring life to street level at all hours of the day. The new buildings are designed to be flexible in the future, should the needs change. The architecture and the design of active street space take into account Vallila’s identity, its historical layers, and a human scale. The block also enables ambitious housing solutions that may not have been possible elsewhere in the inner city. What matters most is that the overall concept becomes something that city dwellers can easily embrace as their own.

Revitalizing the street level, focusing on the services and the good everyday life of city residents

We hope for more

More life, people, greenery, appeal, and human scale.

Residents, city dwellers, cafés, restaurants, grocery stores, street-level shops, live music, nightlife, culture, accommodation services, inviting courtyards, more natural light, walk-through city blocks, trees, and parks.

We hope for less

Office buildings that stand empty. Offices that fall silent in the afternoons. Windows with no light shining through. Restaurants open only for lunch. Long and monotonous block intervals. Dull street-level spaces with no life. Grey asphalt. Darkness.
