Customer: Finnish Transport Agency

Schedule: 2011–2014

Customer: Finnish Transport Agency

Location: Loviisa, Hamina, Vaalimaa

National road 7 is part of the E18 motorway, which connects the largest cities, harbours and airports in Southern Finland. The road is the most significant international connection in Finland and it includes the completion of the EU-approved motorway standard road from Ring Road III to Vaalimaa.

The Hamina ring road* is one of the most important parts of the improvement of the E18 road. The first phase of the project includes the implementation of an approximately 9-kilometre ring road and related road arrangements between Summa and Kolsila. The project includes the construction of the Husula concrete tunnel, just under 500 metres long, and the Kolsila rock tunnel, measuring just over 150 metres.

The Hamina ring road was implemented by Haminan Kehä, a consortium of YIT and Kesälahti Maansiirto.

* The Finnish Transport Agency’s official name for the project is the Hamina bypass.
