Auroransilta bridge construction

Auroransilta is a bridge for non-motorised traffic, facilitating the access and increasing the safety of cyclists, pedestrians, and cross-country skiers in Helsinki.

Crossing a heavily trafficked street, Nordenskjöldinkatu, Auroransilta improves road safety and traffic flow in the area. The supporting structure of this design-bridge is created by two steel structures in the shape of semi-arches. The bridge measures 20m in height, 165m in length and 5m in width. Designed by WSP Finland Oy, Auroransilta won the 2012 RIL Award of the Finnish Association of Civil Engineers.
