YIT head office extension

YIT expanded its head office in Käpylä by building a 7-storey office and retail building and a 5-storey parking lot in connection to the old head office. The extension was completed in December 2008. The total floor area of the new building amounts to 15 000 m² and has work stations for up to 600 people. The service offering also improved with the new building complex: the retail premises of K-supermarket Musta Pekka were renewed and extended as well and Alko moved in as a new tenant.

The extension was designed by Arkkitehtitoimisto Sarc. The façade is made of white pierced aluminium cassettes, which also work as sunshades on large windows. The inner parts of the façade are made of larch panels, which are very durable material and also completes the building’s fresh look.
