Tapiola head office

The new head office of Tapiola Group located in Espoo Tapiola, along Western Highway, is the largest office building in Espoo with its 300 000 cubic meters. The building seems smaller as 40 % of its building mass is inside the excavated rock in the basement floors. The six office wings are connected to each other by access bridges and the outlook is light thanks to screen printed glass façades on the sandwich elements.

The starting point for the planning was flexibility, which is implemented exquisitely: for instance one floor of every office wing can be rented out as the building adjusts vertically and horizontally. The ecological view point is also taken into consideration: the PromisE environmental rating was applied for the building right from the start.

YIT Construction Ltd was chosen as the main contractor for this exceptionally challenging building project and Arkkitehtitoimisto Sarc was in charge of the architectural design.
