The facilities of Laurea university of applied sciences in Tikkurila were completed in 2005. The university has excellent location right next to the Tikkurila railway station, having thus very good traffic connections.

YIT Construction Ltd was the main contractor for the 15,600 m² school building. Architectural design was carried out by Arkkitehtitoimisto Tuomo Siitonen Oy.

The project was financed by RBS Nordisk Renting, which leased the facilities to Laurea on a long-term contract. The operational model of this contract package was developed to bring more flexibility to the facility solutions of public corporations. A public corporation has no obligation to continue the contract or to buy the buildings when the lease ends.
