Ilmala train servicing depot

The main purpose of the new train servicing depot in Ilmala, Helsinki, is servicing Sm3 trains, that is, Pendolinos. The complex was completed in January 2008 and includes a servicing depot of approximately 370 metres long and the connected washing facility.

The 16,100 m² depot building is part of the Ilmala 2010 project to increase the fluency of railway traffic by adding to the train servicing capacity and the safety of the depot. YIT Construction Oy was the main contractor for the Ilmala train servicing depot, and the architectural design was carried out by Arkkitehtitoimisto Miikkulainen & Savolainen Oy.
